Hey, I’m Kayleigh and welcome to Spirited Ventures!
I’m a 31 year old British woman who’s currently travelling solo and I’ve created this blog to share my experiences and journey with you.
After accidently stumbling across the world of long term travel I finally got the courage to take a year off work, book a one-way ticket to Indonesia and see the world. If you’d said to me 2 years I’d save enough money to support my self and travel solo I probably would have laughed and thought you were crazy…now I’m just over 3 months into my journey around South East Asia with no regrets!
I coined the name spirited ventures to best describe how I’m chosing to approach life…with enthusiasm, energy and determination along with a willingness to take risks and embrace the uncertainty of life’s journey.
I hope you enjoy reading about my journey where I will try to be as honest as possible about my experiences. I hope my blog will be a source of inspiration so you too can take your own leap of faith and start travelling soon.
Abit More About Me
I grew up in Birmingham and moved to Devon with my family when I was 14 years old. I worked for many years in hospitality which I really enjoyed, but the hours were long and there was no chance for a life. Over the last 3 years I’ve worked to create a healthy work/life balance so I could pursue one of my biggests passions which is Muay Thai.
I’ve been doing Muay Thai since 2010 and competing since 2013 both in the UK and Thailand. I love everything about the sport and it’s massively shaped the person I am today. Although I’m currently travelling and enjoying another chapter in my life, for me Muay Thai is always in my heart.
My favourite things to do include all things fitness and nutrition related, reading and learning as much as possible, cooking, spending time with my family and friends, drinking too much coffee and eating too much cake!
